A great year

Without a doubt 2022 has been a good year for the Alexandrion Group, which was delighted by the level of interest and positive feedback to their Carpathian Single Malt Whisky – Romania’s first ever single malt whisky.

The single malt was launched in the USA in May 2022; it was then officially unveiled at a product launch in London in July 2022, before the company arranged for a group of international journalists to visit the distillery and production facilities in Romania in September. In October the Carpathian Single Malt Whisky was commercially launched in Bucharest to critical acclaim.

In Cyprus the company officially launched the Carpathian Single Malt expression of Commandaria, exclusive to the Cypriot and Greek markets. At the event, which took place in early December, VIPs were very impressed by the quality of the product and expect demand to be strong across the various sales territories.

At the time of writing the company is waiting to finalise details of which retail outlets will be stocking their whisky, which will have a retail price starting at £50 in the UK, depending which of the nine expressions of the product is purchased.

Carpathian Single Malt Whisky is produced by the Alexandrion Group, the market leader in the production and distribution of spirits and wines in Romanian, and is the only single malt producer in the country.

The group has an illustrious history and has been producing a range of local spirits, including some the strongest brands in Romania, for over 200 years.
