Buxton Brewery’s boost

Buxton Brewery has announced the appointment of three key executives who will lead the business and play a pivotal role in delivering ambitious plans for this successful independent brewery.

Rob Topham joined the company in August as technical director; he will oversee production at the brewery’s Staden Lane brewing facility in Buxton, Derbyshire.

With an extensive background in brewing and production management at Fullers, Camden Town and, most recently, ABI, Rob brings a wealth of expertise and innovative strategies to optimise production processes and increase efficiency of the brewery.

John Hamilton – who has a proven track record in multi-venue management and business development – was appointed on 13 November as the company’s new area manager.

John will spearhead the management and operations of the brewery’s bar operating company – Axe Edge Bars.

On 9 November Dominic Metcalfe was appointed as the company’s new managing director. With a forward-thinking approach, he will identify strategic growth opportunities, a skill that he developed during his time at Adnams, Black Isle Brewery and most recently, Thornbridge Brewery.

Dominic will be instrumental in steering Buxton Brewery through its next expansion phase and overseeing the acquisition of additional licenced premises.

Commenting on the recent appointments, Buxton Brewery’s founder, Geoff Quinn, said: “We are thrilled to welcome these talented individuals to our leadership team.

“Their collective expertise and fresh perspectives align perfectly with our company’s vision. We’re confident that their contributions will be instrumental in propelling our business to even greater success.”

The appointment of the new leadership team coincides with Buxton Brewery’s plans to increase production and acquire additional licenced premises, reflecting the company’s commitment to continuous growth and dedication to producing a fantastic range of beers.
