Christmas cocktail

If you want to offer your customers or friends and family a memorable cocktail this Christmas then look no further than the Partridge and Pear Sour cocktail made with St Maur elderflower liqueur and a quality gin.

This unique cocktail is the perfect balance between the sweet and the sour, which pairs beautifully with savoury canapés and hot, herby sausage rolls.

To create this delicious drink for two simply mix 1½ measures of St Maur, with 1½ measures of dry gin, the juice from half a freshly squeezed lemon, 1 egg white and 7.5ml of pear purée.

Put the ingredients in a shaker and dry shake; add ice and shake again, then strain into a chilled martini glass garnish with a sprig of purple sage and serve.

Here at Hand Crafted Drinks Magazine we were lucky enough to have sampled a bottle of St Maur, which is a hand-crafted premium elderflower liqueur.

The liqueur is silky smooth, not too sweet and in our opinion doesn’t need anything else adding other than ice for a refreshing apéritif or to be savoured on its own as a unique after dinner drink.

St Maur is the creation of William and Kelsey Seymour, Earl and Countess of Yarmouth, which was originally created as a unique gift for their wedding guests; since then St Maur has become a successful business, owned and managed by the Earl and Countess, whose product had gone on to win prizes, accolades and gain loyal customers across the country and beyond.
