Four years ago, Dalmore Gin was created for Alan Bannerman, the owner of The Dalmore Inn & Restaurant, by the team at Persie – the renowned distillers based in the Bridge of Colly, Perthshire.
Dalmore Gin is available at the Blairgowrie-based inn and restaurant, along with Alan Bannerman’s two other venues: The Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus and No 31 also in Blairgowrie.
Commenting on the gin that was launched in 2019, Alan Bannerman said: “Persie did an absolutely fantastic job on this gin for us, and on a personal note I very much enjoyed helping to bring it to life.
“Our brief to Persie was to create a spirit that captured the rich landscape and vegetation of Highland Perthshire. I worked with Simon Fairclough, Persie Distillery’s master distiller and managing director, to curate a gin with top notes of Caledonian pinewood and Scottish woodland, followed by the warmth of peppery heather.
“The result was the minty fresh, grassy gin, reminiscent of forest floors, that we have all come to love. It has a clean and crisp palate with a touch of eucalyptus earthiness.’
Dalmore Gin was named as “Best Spirit to Pair with Food” at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards in 2022.
