Warwickshire Gin Company is one of the first producers in the country to offer authentic ready-to-drink gin and tonics, available in 250ml cans, based on two of their award-winning gins: Leamington On Parade and The Philosopher’s Daughter.

Leamington On Parade is a lightly spiced gin infused with with Ceylon tea, cinnamon and hibiscus, and is inspired by Sam Lockhart, the famous elephant trainer, whose elephants entertained Queen Victoria; he lived in Leamington Spa from the late 1800s until his death in 1933.
The recipe for Philosopher’s Daughter includes rose hip peel, rose petals, apples and cherries, inspired by John Dee, one of Queen Elizabeth I’s most trusted advisors, and his daughter Kathrine.
During his life Dee made many discoveries, including the distillation of alcohol, supported by his daughter, who selected many of the botanicals used by her father as he carried out his experiments.
Other gins that in the collection include The Kingmaker, named after Richard Neville 16th Earl of Warwick; Peeping Tom, inspired by the legend of Coventry’s Lady Godiva; Pelota Dry Gin, inspired by Spanish Merchant named Juan Augurio Perera who invented lawn tennis and opened the world’s first Lawn Tennis Club in Leamington in 1873.
Commenting on the new ready-to-drink range, Warwickshire Gin’s managing director, David Blick, said: “We’ve chosen our two most popular gins to can which also have quite contrasting flavour profiles. As far as we’re aware there aren’t any other craft drink brands canning their product in this way. It’s just all the big boys, which you can only get in the supermarkets.”
“The market is really large for RTDs (ready-to-drink) now, although, after lots of our own market research, we’ve noticed the quality is generally quite poor.
“What makes us unique is that we are making it with proper gin rather than gin-flavoured alcohol as most of the others seem to do. This opens up a totally new way to drink proper gin for a new clientele.”
With the RTD sector set to continue to experience strong growth throughout 2025, Warwickshire Gin is well positioned to take advantage of the demand for pre-mixed drinks, especially the premium segment where demand is particularly high.
Having recently sampled both varieties, we were extremely impressed. If you’re more of a traditionalist then you will prefer Leamington On Parade. The quality of the dry gin, infused with Ceylon tea, cinnamon and hibiscus, delivers a refreshing slightly spicy finish, which is well balanced with tonic; the result is perfectly rounded G&T, which we would always recommend serving with ice and a slice of lemon.
The flavour profile of this fruity G&T is achieved by blending apple, cherry, rose petals and rose hip, which is mixed with an elderflower tonic. The Philosopher’s Daughter is definitely one for the warmer summer months and for those Indian Summers, which if we’re to believe the weather forecasters, we’re due for a very warm spell in early September.
Along with the quality of what’s inside the recyclable cans, we really liked their design, both of which reflect and reinforce the stories underpinning both varieties.
We look forward to seeing what’s next for this forward-thinking and creative distillery.
