Stockport Gin, run by husband-and-wife team, Paul and Cheryl Sharrocks, recently opened the doors to their new distillery in the centre of Stockport, which was officially launched by the Mayor of Stockport, Cllr Adrian Nottingham.
The couple started distilling in their garage in 2019, but by February 2021 they needed more space to keep up with demand and announced plans to relocate to new premises.
19B St Petersgate, is the new home of their distillery, which also has a gin shop and a large event space, where people can visit and buy the range of gins, as well as other local products; they also stock guest gins from further afield.
Commenting on the new distillery, Cheryl said: “We are delighted to finally open our doors to the public after a few months of hard work to get the distillery and gin shop exactly how we want it. We are really looking forward to welcoming people in, and being able to show people exactly what we do and how we do it.
“The new premises, we hope, will give people another reason to visit Stockport, not just to see us but also all the other wonderful places in and around the town centre. The amount of independent shops, bars and restaurants on offer now is incredible and we hope we can be a small part of that.”
The gin shop is located at 19B St Petersgate, Stockport, SK1 1EB and is open 10am-4pm, Wednesday-Saturday
