Here at Hand Crafted Drinks Magazine we’re here to help promote artisan drinks producers who work tirelessly to produce some of the finest beers, ciders, wines and spirits available today.
Padstow Distilling is one such company – a young distillery business created and managed by Cornish wine merchant David McWilliam, who makes a series of small batch, award-winning spirits in the heart of Padstow – Cornwall’s culinary capital.
David is passionate about creating high quality spirits, driven by a relentless pursuit to create unique products that reflect the beauty of the region.
Since launching in 2018, Padstow Distilling, based in the heart of Padstow, has become a popular year-round destination for gin and vodka lovers.
The distillery’s Padstow Gin is a testament to the dedication of David and his team. Distilled by hand, the gin is crafted in small batches from locally-sourced natural ingredients, foraged along the North Cornwall coastline.
Unusually, the company makes their own base grain neutral spirit, using Cornish barley grown locally at Tregirls Farm in Padstow, and all their gins and vodkas are also created from this coastal barley grown in the Camel Estuary, above the beach at St George’s Well.
In 2022 the original Padstow Gin, St. George’s Well, and Padstow Vodka won silver medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition; at the same competition Padstow Gin Navy Stepper Point was awarded double gold and Padstow Rose Gin Hawker’s Cove took home a gold medal.
