Distillery supports local charity

The Isle of Barra Distillers has raised an incredible £2,500 from this year’s Giving Tuesday, for The Barra Cancer Group.
Over Giving Tuesday, which took place on 30 November 2021, Isle of Barra Distillers donated £12 from every bottle sold, to the charity.
Isle of Barra Distillers’ co-founder, Katie Morrison commented: “We were honoured to hand over the cheque from our Giving Tuesday fundraiser for the Barra Cancer Support Group. Kay MacNeil the vice-chairman kindly accepted the cheque on the group’s behalf.”
The owners of the Isle of Barra Distillers were delighted with the support they received for the campaign and have extended sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a success.
Barra Cancer Support Group was chosen with sentimental value and is one that is very close to the owners’ hearts as they have had personal experience of losing a loved one to cancer.
The Morrison family was very grateful for the immediate care provided by Barra Cancer Support and are very keen to support the work of this very worthwhile cause. Katie Morrison added: “We are in awe of the incredible work this charity offers us and our fellow islanders and hope this contribution will help people, in the way that it helped us.”
