Valentine’s Day all wrapped up

Last year we covered the launch of Conscious Cocktail Co, a start-up company launched by Sally Hawkins, and reviewed her excellent range of nature-inspired, ready-to-drink cocktails.  

Sales are going well for Conscious Cocktail Co, whose range comprises three varieties: Hedgerow Martini, Wild Spritz and Meadow Mojito.

Ahead of Valentine’s Day we were re-sent all three varieties, which arrived in a recyclable box, with the three cans packaged in straw, with dried lavender and a slice of dried fruit, along with information about the cocktails.

Everyone in the office agreed that they would make a great gift for Valentine’s Day, which is why we were happy to feature the company for a second time.

Sally Hawkins is clearly tapping into a market driven by health-conscious younger consumers who are looking to reduce their alcohol consumption, but not the quality of what they drink, which is why RTD cocktails, especially those positioned in the premium segment, are set to continue to experience significant growth.

For the second time around, we were very impressed by the packaging, branding and overall positioning, and – most importantly – the taste.

The Meadow Mojito, is an impressive interpretation of the Cuban classic, with English white rum, lemon balm, mint and lime, producing a lively mouthfeel and satisfying zesty finish.

Made with English white wine, pink elderflower, English rose extract and fresh strawberry juice, Wild Spritz delivers a light and refreshing taste, bursting with a delicious strawberry-forward flavour.

The Hedgerow Martini is a confident cocktail underpinned by London Dry Gin, with a depth of flavour that is delivered in spades by a British sloe gin and the sumptuous blackberry juice.

Apple juice provides a subtle sweetness, balanced with a twist of lemon, which rounds off a very satisfying drink.

As we also reported, Conscious Cocktail Co donates a portion of every sale to The Wildlife Trust, helping to protect the habitats from which many of the foraged ingredients are found, as Sally explains: “We are more than just another canned drink; Conscious Cocktail Co is built on values.
