2021 Bartender Spirits Awards

The winners at the third Bartenders Spirits Awards, which took place in San Francisco on 7 June, have just been announced.

Judged by top US bartenders and mixologists, the Bartender Spirits Awards judge a diverse range of spirits against the following parameters: mixability, balance and versatility, taste, mouthfeel and finish, packaging and price.

This competition recognises the importance of bartenders, who are the true influencers; their passion and taste provides direction for the consumer, especially their guidance with wine, beer or spirit recommendations.

Named as Spirit of the Year was Uncle Nearest 1820 Premium Single Barrel Whiskey, pictured left, with a link to all medal winners below.

Commenting on the third annual event, Sid Patel founder and CEO of Beverage Trade Network, said: “We really wanted a way to recognise those spirits that would be a great addition to any bar and that are completely on-trend in terms of packaging and price.

“Whether bartenders are looking to plug a very specific gap in their existing spirits inventory, or construct an entirely new cocktail menu from scratch, what better advice could they get than from fellow bartenders?”

This year’s Bartender Spirits Awards was able to resume face-to-face judging, where America’s top bartenders met to review brands from more than 45 countries.
